Tooth fairy visits for the last time
Just before my daughter went to bed tonight, I asked: What are you doing? Instead of rummaging for paper, Emma, 9, was meant to be brushing her teeth.
The sweet little thing was writing a letter to the tooth fairy. Emma remembered the dentist saying she had one last tooth to lose and well it came out today. It has been bothering Emma for a few days. Emma said the tooth was quite sharp and it was bleeding a bit.
I don’t understand – when there is a loose tooth..it is hard for the treasures to eat yoghurt, but ice cream is easy and fine?!! If it was a sausage and yoghurt – I would understand!
Even though the night had been long – normal dinner and homework chores – as Emma said she was writing a letter to the tooth fairy it made me think how sweet and innocent kids are and how magical being a child can be.
Emma wanted to put the tooth beside her bed and I suggested it go in a container, with a lid, so puppy didn’t find it!!
Hopefully, tomorrow there will be a surprise for Emma and her little eyes will light up in excitement. Sometimes the tooth fairy takes a few nights to visit, but we all understand why. Fingers crossed, this time, the tooth fairy will give preference to a little girl’s last pearly white tooth.
The note from the Tooth Fairy reads:
Emma,
Another beautiful tooth. I am pretty sure this is your last. I will always treasure my visits to you. Keep smiling that special smile. You are an amazing little girl. Lots of Love.
The Tooth Fairy.
