He or she will sleep until the cows come home – maybe, or he will sleep until his or hers heart is content! Sleep can make you feel homely and safe, but also feeling homely and safe makes you sleep better.
Some people feel homely under the stars or on a train, in a clean place, in a not so clean place or in a noisy place! I like clean and calm noises and quiet and cosy and nice smells!
When is a heart content? I hear you ask! Everyone’s heart is complex and I don’t think anyone’s heart is content all of the time, even if someone tells you it is! I also think only people who are feeling content know it’s real, even thought it might not look like contentedness to others. Some people might find days easier than nights.
To be content I think people have to find what makes them feel good within themselves. Experts say it’s not money, it’s not success; it’s intrapersonal and personal relationships. Your journey within yourself is the one that can take years and I think it makes sense that it does. There are plenty of books about ‘contented babies’, however, not about contented adults! I think we are a little more complex, but this makes the reward at the end (wherever this is) even more enjoyable!
Ask your higher self what makes you content: some people call it God too; whatever sits well with you. Have a conversation and write it down and see what answers arise. You are referred to as ‘self’ or ‘lonely self’ or ‘sad self’; an example:
Self: I don’t feel content right now.
Higher Self: I know and that’s okay you know. Touch something in front of you and really feel it.
Self: Like this cup?
Higher Self: Yes, exactly and think about it and where it came from and what it means to you and think about other things that have meaning to you.
This is just an example to show you how easy it is and how we have all of the answers ourselves; we just have to look in the right place!
