Well, unless they have a nanny, which they probably do, I think they sleep just like us!
I know we look up to these rich and famous people, however, they really are just human!
Money can buy every sleep aid available and every appointment at the sleep specialist, the highest thread count of sheets, but at the end of the day, money doesn’t buy perfection.
If your child wakes up and the nanny attends to the child all of the time, how is this bonding with your child? And then during the day when they need to spend time with them (hopefully not always for show!) this interaction will be quite hard and taxing.
I also believe that the sleepless nights during the first few months, of having a newborn, is important as this puts the whole parenting roller coaster into perspective. There are a lot of hurdles that follow sleepless nights and I think each hurdle helps with the next!
So, when we say things like: “I wish we had a nanny to attend to the children”, do we really? I mean a babysitter is great and having a night off is wonderful. Just imagine the one night the nanny couldn’t be there for some reason and the rich and famous parents had to step in…nightmare!!!
And you don’t have to be rich and famous to have a nanny. Some people choose careers and need this assistance and of course there is nothing wrong with having help. The important thing is not to lose sight of being aware of your child’s needs. Babies and kids look for confidence in adults and their carers and this only comes with persevering through the good and bad times.
We don’t really know which rich and famous people do it the full-time nanny way or the on-hand parent way and the truth is I think ALL parents want people to think they are on-hand!! Reportedly the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, attended to George during his first few months of colicky crying, but is having help the second-time around.
